I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to post.
I have seen proposals on the Fairfax Connector web site & bus shelters about rerouting 951/952 so that they enter the Toll Road on Whelie rather than Hunter Mill.
Does anybody know if a decision has been made on this rerouting? If so when does it take effect? I currently avoid these routes because of the unpredictable schedules.
A big bravo to Fairfax Connector for their excellent service on routes 950 and 505. RIBS4 is OK but a bit hit and miss, I often end up walking the 1/2 mile to the 505 route rather than risking a missed connection.
Looks like Fairfax Connector got around to posting a message on the web page about all the changes:
http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector/pdf/RestonFeb2006.pdf
They take effect 5 March.
Any predictions on how it is going to work out?
I wonder how construction on the transit center at Reston Town Center is going? Last time I was over there (>= 6 months ago) it was still a gigantic hole in the ground.
I stumbled across a combined schedule of all routes going to/from the Whelie Park & Ride to West Falls Church at my local library literature rack. It looks quite handy but alas it doesn't seem to appear on their web page.
Maybe once all the restructuring is done there can be similar brochures for Herndon P&R and the Town Center transit depot.
