Just saw an article in the Post (10/27) that Metro will begin conducting random searches of rider's packages/bags/backpacks, and thought this board's members could post their experiences here if they are "searched" or observe someone else getting searched.

By experience - I mean in terms of how they were approached, how respectfully they felt they were treated, how long the process took.)

Thanks.

The searches will be held to a minimum and last upwards of 30 seconds. now I know almost everyone who is asked will be upset because their little world is being disrupted.

I have talked to transit officers and they are generally not happy about it either. the classes as I hear that they are taking are more on how not to piss everyone off and be as PC as possible. you know, "be sure to check 80 year old women and 7 year old kids and not check those who would fit the general profile of someone we are looking for".

Wait until something does seriously happen and then everyone will scream ,"why wasn't more done". it is a no win situation for metro. so let the whiners line up now.
